acer restore failed reason 0xd0000017
Should you have this problem with your acer while trying to restore the vista partition, simply download, burn, and run this utility to zero out the hard drive partition. Then, run the restore again. Works like a charm. I got into this situation after blowing the vista partition away with a linux install. YMMV.

I'm about to try this method if my cheap acer rom drive decides to work. I too had a linux install and assume that is the issue. Acer is junk.
Sorry but my english is very bad.
I have download bootdsk-iso and burning into cdrom. I boot from this cd rom on a acer travelmate 5510 and i see several options. But i don't know what i must to use to can restore win vista with pqrecovery partition.
